Internally displaced people in eastern district of Sri Lanka

More than 130 000 civilians fled aerial bombings and mortar shellings in the district of Batticaloa. Internally displaced people (IDP) live now in one of the hundred camps in the area. Due to recent war operations in Sri Lanka between army and Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), fighting for the independance of North and East of Sri Lanka, civilians are caught between two fires.
